Indian Association of Virginia

A graduate of Spartan Health Sciences University, Dr. Sridhar Yaratha maintains concurrent responsibilities as a forensic psychiatrist at Central State Hospital and an attending psychiatrist for Gateway Homes, both in Virginia. Outside of his professional pursuits, Dr. Sridhar Yaratha previously served as newsletter editor and member of the India Association of Virginia. (IAVA).

Each year, IAVA serves members of the Indian community across Virginia’s Tri-cities and metropolitan Richmond areas. The individuals and families that hold membership with the association receive a wide range of benefits that aim to facilitate community-wide personal and professional growth.

IAVA holds events throughout the year, including the Independence Day of India cultural celebration and picnic, overnight camping trips, and outdoor excursions. In addition, the association provides leadership and educational workshops for members of all ages. Through these events, IAVA affiliates are able to connect with others in the local Indian community while celebrating their heritage.

Members also enjoy IAVA benefits such as discounts from the association’s partner businesses and access to banking services from Indian institutions such as the State Bank of India. IAVA offers a member directory and a newsletter, both of which can be accessed through its website.
